Les matchs des 16èmes de finale des coupes de Luxembourg Dames et Hommes du BC Mess ont été fixés.
    


Nos Dames A (LaLux Ladies Cup) joueront au Grengewald le Jeudi 27 Octobre à 19h30.
Les Hommes A (Loterie Nationale Cup) recevront Nitia le Mercredi 19 Octobre à 20h30.

L'équipe Hommes du BC Mess recevra Nitia, à Mondercange, en 16ème de finale de la Loterie Nationale Cup. La rencontre sera fixée pour le mercredi 19 ou le jeudi 20 octobre.
En ce qui concerne nos Dames A, elles rencontreront Grengewald à Oberanven le mercredi 26 ou jeudi 27 octobre, en 16ème de finale de LaLux Ladies Cup.

Le BC Mess vient d'engager comme étranger, le joueur américain, Domonique Crawford pour la saison 2011-2012.

De ce fait Bojan Petrovic occupera donc la place de joueur EU.



Domonique n'est pas un inconnu au Grand-Duché, il a en effet évolué à Soleuvre de novembre 2009 à décembre 2010.
Ce Guard/Forward de 27 ans (1m93) a joué 29 match en Nationale 1 pour une moyenne de 26 ppg.

This weekend does not only start the Diekirch League but there will also be the first games of the Nationale 2 season. The second highest league will be played with 10 teams this season and will therefore have a Top 6 playoff and a Bottom 4 playdown similar to the Diekirch League. Basketnews.lu analyses the different teams and tries to find out who are the favorites for the promotion to the Nat 1.

AB Contern
AB Contern is back in the Nationale 2 after several years and titles in the Diekirch League. The team needs to re-organize itself in order to find the way back to the good old times. Therefore, head coach Mark Reed will build on the young players as the most experienced members of the team have left this summer. Reggie Fuller seems to be one of the strongest US players of the Nationale 2 and the addition of a EU player will help to strengthen their inside game. With Steve Kuhlmann, Laurent Majerus and Sven Pezzotta, there are several options to assure the scoring and Contern should be the main favorite for moving up again.

Black Star Mersch
The second relegated team Black Star Mersch looks to be the other team to watch this season. The management wanted the continuity as they extended the contracts of head coach Mike Smith and US player Billy McDaniel. The addition of Milos Ristic as EU player looks to be a great fit for the team from the center of the country. With Mike Schumacher and Rui Nunes, the team has good scoring options on the Luxembourgish positions while the loss of Tom Becker has been more than compensated with the signature of Ristic. The conditional presence of Tom Rausch, who will study abroad, will determine how far Mersch can go this season but a return back to the Diekirch League would not be a surprise.

Avanti Mondorf
The years go on and Avanti Mondorf is still a team somewhere in the middle of the Nationale 2. Last season, the squad around Jeff Kettenmeyer was as close as never to reach the Diekirch League but it was not enough. Therefore, several players have left the Casino city (Christian Mais, Jean de Marchi, Steve Streveler) but the management tried to get some new blood with the addition of David Deviscour and especially Trenton Wurtz who comes from the Musel Pikes. Additionally, several young players will be added to roster of head coach Zsuzsanna Boksay who will try to reach the Top 6 in spring.

BC Mess
The young and talented team of head coach Jerome Alff will try to improve its game to what they have shown last season. Two additions on the foreigner spots with Bojan Petrovic from Serbia and Ben Breiling from Germany will give the roster more size and international experience. On the Luxembourgish side, the team will still be run by Chris Dentzer while the scoring on the wings should come mainly from Tim Steffen and especially Jo Hoeser. The team from Mondercange might not be strong enough for the promotion but they can be considered as a serious outsider to play the top 3 positions this season.

Grengewald Hostert
The team from Oberanven will go into the season 2011/2012 with a team that has seen 9 players and a new head coach arrive. In fact, Carlo Achten has not only signed a EU player in Miguel Alonso who played before for BBC Kehlen but also added 7 new players while Chris Muller has been confirmed as a transfer after his loan from Telstar last season. The core of the team will remain the same though around the guards Marc Braun and Steve Binna while Jens Gabler and Yannick Julien will have their impact on the wings. Nick Harrington will go into his third season with the club as US player and he might help them to reach the Top 6 for the first time.

Racing Luxembourg
A lot has changed in the capital this summer as the former national champion has seen the departure of their top scorer Andy Schammo to Zolwer and the comeback as a player of their former coach Eric Grand. The place on the bench has been taken over by Nikolaos Skontos who comes from Walferdange. The roster saw also the return of Louis Haas who came back from the Musel Pikes and the addition of Sam Ney on loan. These quality players should be able to help the team find a way back upwards in the standings but the rotation seems to be quite small and no foreign players have been announced so far which makes it a bit difficult to forecast their season.

Red Miners Kayldall
The team from Kayl managed to stay in the Nationale 2 and starts this season with growing ambitions. The extension of Arpad Buzasi gives them the necessary size in the paint and the US player Brian Festog is more team-oriented than the shooting machine John Grotberg. The main addition for the team of coach Roger Hayard might however be the dynamic point guard Thierry Steinmetz who comes from T71. Together with Serge Keller and Cedric Demontis, the Red Miners have a good back-court rotation and might fight for the 6th place in the standings this season.

Pall Basket Arel
The team from Belgium comes out of a very good Nationale 3 season and seems to be even stronger since the cooperation with the French team from Longwy. The addition of Christophe Pawlowski from Mamer gives them more scoring potential next to the usual forces like Nelson Rockens or Aurélien Tiberghien. Sean Black will still be present as US player while the team is looking for a replacement of their EU player Antonio Chibunduca who has left the club a few days ago. The Croatian big guy Marco Perovic has been with the team for some time now but no decision has been made on his situation. Nevertheless, Arel is a candidate for the Top 6 this season.

Bascharage Hedgehogs
After several years in the Nationale 3, the Bascharage Hedgehogs are back on the second highest level with the probably youngest team of the competition. Being based on a multitude of players born in 1993 and 1994, the management decided to add some experience on the foreigner spots with John Holmes and Antonio Chibunduca. The departure of Arnes Osmanovic to the LBBA is a big loss for the team but head coach Toni Ostojic will do everything to keep the team in the Nationale 2. The talent level is there but it has to be seen how the young players will adapt to the stronger competition.

Kordall Steelers
The team from the South-East comes to the Nationale 2 as the only squad without a professional foreign player. The roster is built around their main addition Sascha Muepu who came from Zolwer and the experienced Nagib Chentite. Even if they might seef Matevz Pajek for some games, the Steelers will have some problems to reach the Top 6. Their unconventional playing style will certainly surprise some teams and they have some talent on the team. Muepu will help them a lot on both sides of the court and they can seriously look for staying in the League if the main players remain healthy.

Sous la responsabilité de Fränk, Ronnnie et Gilles, elle accueille tous les enfants (filles ou garçons) de 6 à 11 ans, même débutants, désirant s'initier au Basket Ball dans un contexte ludique et hors compétition.
