The second day of the Nationale 2 had some interesting results as some of the favorites could not get their second win while one of the promoted teams is now topping the League. In fact, the Bascharage Hedgehogs earned their second win behind their trident Holmes, Tomas, Chibunduca (59 of the 79 points) by beating the Red Miners at home. The team of coach Toni Ostojic is now at the top of the ranking together with the big favorite AB Contern who had no problems to overcome an injury-plagued Pall Arel team. Racing managed to win against BC Mess with the addition of the US player Morton who had 18 while their Lithuanian import Lukosevicius run hot for 30pts at 4/7 three pointers. Grengewald Hostert showed a great team effort in order to beat Black Star Mersch in Oberanven despite the 30pts of Billy McDaniel.

This weekend, the Nationale 2 teams will have a double game-day on Friday and Sunday. These two games will already give a better idea of who might go to the Top6 and who will have to fight in the Play-downs. Racing, BC Mess and Contern should nothave too many problems to open their weekend with a win in Petange, against Arlon and Grengewald respectively. The game to follow on Friday is certainly Bascharage versus Black Star as it will be very interesting to see if the Hedgehogs can continue their suprising run against one of favorites. Kayldall against Mondorf can develop into a rivalry for the 6th place at the end of the regular season and both teams should observe the margin in order to be prepared for an eventual tie.

On Sunday, the show continues with several games at high risk for the teams. Arel will normally open its score at home against the Kordallsteelers but the other games all look pretty balanced. Hostert showed that they can beat stronger opponents at home and BC Mess should therefore be warned. The Hedgehogs will face the ultimate test by hosting AB Contern in what could be the game of the weekend. Mondorf needs the victory as much as the Black Star in their opposition while Racing should be able to beat Kayldall at the Tramsschapp.

The Nationale 2 season has started last weekend and the main favorites did not have too much trouble in their first games. Check below for our report on the first game day and preview what to expect this weekend.

AB Contern needed one quarter in order decide the game as the team was up 31-11 after the first ten minutes against Racing. The former DL team was lead by their two imports Christopher Butler (28pts) and Reggie Fuller (22pts). For Racing, the season opening showed that there is still a long way to go especially as their Lithuanian import Lukosevicius had not much impact on the scoring. Sam Ney though showed that he still can play with 29pts. Black Star Mersch also had a quick lead against Pall Basket Arel and the team of coach Mike Smith dominated the game 97-66 behind 30pts of their EU player Milos Ristic.
BC Mess looks like a potential Top3 team especially since the arrival of Domonique Crawford who scored 31 in order to get the first win for his team over Mondorf where Yves Braun had one of these days (38pts). But Mess was too strong as Jo Hoeser continued where he ended his previous season with 21pts.
Kayldall underlined their strength this season by beating Grengewald in an important game for the 6th place probably while the Hedgehogs had no problems to win against Kordall.

The second gameday this weekend will have a very interesting match between the young team from Bascharage and Kayldall. The guys of Toni Ostojic can show if they might be a potential Top6 team against the guys around Brian Festog but Kayldall looks a lot stronger than last season. Kordallsteelers should have problems against Mondorf despite playing at home while Racing needs to find a solution in order to improve their game if they want to compete with BC Mess. Contern will receive Pall Basket Arel who sees the arrival of their EU player Marko Pavlovic which should help them a lot in the paint. However, Contern is most likely superior in this challenge. Grengewald Hostert will play against Black Star in a game that might be emotional for the head coach of the Greens, Carlo Achten. Black Star normally will not distribute any gifts to their former player and coach and should normally get their second victory.

Le staff technique du BC Mess a été partiellement renouvelé pour la saison 2011-2012. En effet des nouveaux entraîneurs sont arrivés au sein notre club. Voir la rubrique "Entraîneurs"


L'équipe Hommes A est toujours sous les ordres de Jérôme Alff, qui entame sa 2ème saison au club avec des objectifs bien définis.

Notre staff technique s'est renforcé avec la venue de Miodrag "Pure" Radomirovic, entraîneur professionnel serbe, detenteur de la licence A, qui a entraîné entre-autre en Allemagne, Autriche et Serbie.

En temps que Coordinateur des équipes de jeunes du club, "Pure" assurera toute la supervision et coordination au niveau des jeunes et aura en charge les équipes Scolaires, Cadets et Dames A.
Il assistera accessoirement J. Alff pour les Hommes A.


L'équipe Minis sera entraînée et coachée par Yann Ewert (du T71)
qui sera assisté par Christophe "Bully" Funk (jeune joueur du club)





Les Fillettes seront sous la responsabilité, comme la saison dernière, d' Alain Mikos.

Et l'Ecole de basket sera animée par 3 joueurs du BC Mess, Fränk Mikos, Ronnie Haas et Gilles Johann.
